The Epiphone Prophecy Collection, created by popular demand for serious shredding and killer appearance, proudly presents the Les Paul Custom EX. This carved-top, Mahogany body features a quilted Maple top under a translucent Midnight Ebony finish. a 24-fret, set, super-fast, SlimTaper™ Mahogany neck with full binding and luxrious, Ebony Fingerboard with jumbo fretwires and exclusive "blade" Prophecy inlay. This sustain monster is armed with active EMG 81 & 85 Humbucker pickups, for savage, powerful tone. It includes blacked-out Epiphone strap locks, deadly-accurate Grover machine heads and the sustain-gorging Epiphone LocTone locking Tune-o-matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece and sick Pearl control knobs.
With its solid Mahogany body with highly figured quilt Maple top and glued-in Mahogany neck, the Les Paul EX has its roots firmly planted in the LP tradition. But that's where tradition ends. Epiphone's Prophecy Line
The new Prophecy Collection features four distinct shapes that all share common features. In addition to the guitar style, the model either is an EX (EMG active or the new EpiActive pickups), GX (Gibson USA pickups), or FX (original Floyd Rose Tremolo). Common features include highly figured quilt Maple tops, 24-fret SpeedTaper satin necks, jumbo frets, unique "blade" inlays, Epiphone's new, patent-applied-for Straplocks, hand-stained colors and eye-catching Pearl knobs. Because they're all "Customs", they all have bound bodies and necks. The new Prophecy Collection takes advantage of all the design work and testing we've been doing over the past two to three years.

I took it to a local music company i deal with here in PA and had them do a pro setup on it and put 9's on it for me. well it plays much nicer now except the neck is a little flexible. By this i mean that when i tune it up if i just push on the neck a tad the tuneing drops a lot more then my other guitars do. Maybe this will go away once the guitar has had the 9's on it a while but My ibanez guitars dont do this nearly as much if at all. Other then that im really happy with the guitar.The finish looks like a million dollars and the neck dimensions feel nice to me. I may eventually swap out the emg's to get a sweeter passive pickup. I do play metal but i play mostly rock and my dimarzios in my ibanez sound sweeter to me(just my opinion). if your getting a case for this guitar get the epiphone LP one because a lot of other LP cases won't fit this guitar the headstock...
